Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well.
When you’ve been part of the kendo world for a long time, it’s only natural that you end up exploring all kinds of ways to research things or satisfy your curiosity on different topics.
I honestly don’t know how many kendo-related books I have in my library at this point. But I can say this for sure: I absolutely fell in love with the latest book I picked up.
Many books tend to repeat more or less the same information, and when it comes to Kendo, you usually see familiar themes like, “This technique should be done this way,” or “For that technique, I recommend doing it like this.”
This book, however, is different. The author’s personal opinions appear very rarely. So where does the information come from, and why should you own this book?
The vast majority of the content is based on insights shared by 8th Dan sensei. But here’s the small — and very important — difference: for each topic, you’re not hearing from just one 8th Dan. You’re hearing the perspectives of three different people. I think that’s absolutely brilliant.
Of course, you can always choose to say, “I personally follow what Sensei X says.” That’s totally fine. But being able to see the different viewpoints of multiple high-level teachers on the same topics, all gathered in a single book, is an incredible richness.
I started reading the book the very evening it arrived at my place, and I truly read it with great enjoyment and curiosity.
Once you read it, you’ll realize that this book is made up of knowledge acquired over a very long period of time — the result of countless travels, many seminars, and notes taken under challenging conditions.
Please, when you buy this book, keep in mind the effort the author put into it and the many years of hard work behind it. And kindly do not encourage anyone to use free PDFs or photocopied versions. Thank you.
“Where can I buy the book?”
As far as I know, there is currently no online platform where you can purchase it. If you’d like to own a copy, you need to contact the author directly. The price of the book is 22 euros, though I’m not sure how much it will cost you with shipping included.
